How It Works
How SmartVax Works
An automated text message or email is sent to patients 3 to 5 days after their vaccination containing a link to a brief survey enquiring about the nature, severity and duration of any reactions.
GP Notification
GPs are notified via their practice software inbox of any medically attended adverse events. Patient records can then be updated and additional care arranged if needed.
There is also an option for automated notification to state authorities in keeping with state based legislation.
SmartVax Data
The data, with all personal information removed, is also monitored by AusVaxSafety – a national vaccine safety surveillance system led by the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance (NCIRS) and funded by the Australian Government Department of Health.
Using SmartVax as their main data monitoring tool, AusVaxSafety analyse and report de-identified data to all states, territories and the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
